The Metal Element
Each of the 12 animal signs within the Chinese zodiac is associated with one of the five elements. This is known as the fixed element of the sign. The animal signs related to the Metal Element are the Monkey and the Rooster.
Generally, people born under the fixed Metal sign have a great deal of confidence and are resolute in their drive for success… sometimes to a point of being hard-headed and stubborn! There is a strong sense of attractiveness around this element – they have an energy and confidence that makes them very likeable.
Additionally, each animal sign is further divided into the five sub-elements, depending on the year that the sign occurs.
Those born under the yearly Metal sub-element will have the following characteristics:
Strengths
- Ambitious and very success driven
- Competitive
- Good leadership qualities
- Fiercely independent
- Determined and driven
- Not easily swayed or influenced by others
- Not easily discouraged by failure or rejection
- A fighter who will not back down
- Handles difficulties head-on, preferably on their own
- Disciplined and focused
- Often spiritual, holding high morals and high standards
- Strong instincts when dealing with monetary aspects
Weaknesses
- Opinionated
- Non-expressive, or expressive only to a certain limit
- Can be very stubborn and unreasonable (especially if things are not to their expectation)
- Susceptible to being merciless and unkind
- Unafraid to cut ties with those who fail to conform to their expectations or hold opposing views

Hmm, this is interesting. I would say that it is kind of 50% 50% for those that I know under this metal Monkey and Rooster signs. Now I will go look for my own signs. Lol! Thank you for sharing such a variety of posts that sure makes a dull day interesting.
谢谢仁波切的五行分享,金,木,水, 火, 土,我有朋友是属于“金”行性格。 看看里面的分析都瞒贴切。但大家只是作为参考罢了。
Through this, it tells me more about my Zodiac. There are some points that I can relate to but I guess to really judge a person we have to know them better. This would act as a great guideline when we first meet a person.
It’s a good guideline to assess people whom we meet. My Chinese horoscope is of the metal element. Some of the traits stated are very true but some are not. I think it’s because there are also other contributing elements such as the animal sign, the hour that I was born and so on. It’s fun to read it anyways.
Rinpoche did say that with dharma we can rise above all these contributing elements although they do exist. As the Chinese saying goes, 30% is fated but 70% is in the palm of our hand.
